The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is the intersection connecting Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao. because of Chinese policy, a customs control facility is established between Hongkong, Macao and Mainland China. The Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities (HKBCF), accommodating the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities of HKSAR is located on a reclamation site with about 130 hectares of land at the waters off north-east of Hong Kong International Airport. Besides as a control point for CIQ clearance for passengers and cargos entering and leaving Hong Kong, the HKBCF will also serve as a strategic multimodal transportation hub for international and domestic traffic for its proximity and connection to the Hong Kong International Airport. It also connects with the strategic highway network including HZMB connecting Zhuhai/Macao and Western Pearl River Delta, TM-CLKL connecting Tuen Mun in the north and Lantau Island in the south.

This proposal intends to maximize efficiency. By separating people arrived from buses and private vehicles on two levels, as well as elongate the length of the facility to increase checkpoints and minimize the queue, so that crossing border process could be speed up. The geometry is generated from the functional arrangement: The second level plan is borrowed form airport terminal departure, and the first floor is minimized to curve touching the ground, which provides the toll gate as well as stabilizes the entire structure above.

01. Elongate the checking line

02. Locate people from buses and private vehicles on different levels

03. Minimize touch ground and stabilize structure
